We are excited to share the great story about our client from Mauritania, who against all odds, recently became a U.S. citizen. Facing a denial due to a lack of good moral character, our dedicated team worked tirelessly to overturn the decision after an N-336 Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings.
Our client started the naturalization process by applying for an N-400 Application for Naturalization in February 2021, driven by a sincere desire to become a U.S. citizen.
However, the journey took an unexpected turn when, after appearing for an interview in August 2022, he received a Request for Evidence (RFE) in September of the same year. The RFE was based on the grounds of insufficient evidence of good moral character for not providing support for his minor children. USCIS requested specific documents, including a certified copy of his daughter’s birth certificate and evidence of his financial support for his minor children.
Despite our client’s prompt response to the RFE, his N400 was denied.
Undeterred, the client sought our assistance in October 2022, recognizing the need for experienced legal guidance.
Committed to helping our client achieve his dream of U.S. citizenship, we immediately initiated an N-336 application with a comprehensive set of supporting documents. Our team left no stone unturned, including a declaration from the client, pictures with his daughter, a notarized letter from his daughter’s mother, money transfers, tax transcripts, employment letters, and letters vouching for his good moral character. Additionally, we proactively requested the client’s USCIS FOIA to thoroughly review his immigration history, ensuring no aspect of the case was overlooked.
We submitted the case in January 2023, and our client received a hearing notice in November 2023.
Recognizing the importance of the upcoming hearing, we collected additional documentation to show proof of his ongoing financial support to his children. Our Lead Attorney arranged a mock interview, and accompanied the client to his N336 hearing in January 2024.
The culmination of our collective efforts was reflected in the “Naturalization Interview Results,” which recommended our client for approval. Within a remarkably short time, our client received a notice for his Naturalization Oath Ceremony, marking the final step in his journey to becoming a U.S. citizen!
On January 30, 2024, our client took his Oath of Allegiance to the United States and became a naturalized U.S citizen!
