We are happy to share the heartwarming journey of our client, a naturalized U.S. citizen, and her husband from Ghana, whose love story endured challenges and culminated in the approval of their I-130 petition.
Our client, a U.S. citizen, met her future husband when destiny brought them together in Ghana.
Little did they know their casual exchange would lead to a deep friendship, and then to something more profound.
In January 2020, our client took the initial step of petitioning for her fiancé’s K1-visa.
After months of waiting, the petition was approved.
However, their journey was not without challenges.
On a previous visa application, the beneficiary provided false information about his marital status.
He did so after obtaining bad advice.
Consequently, this old misrepresentation led to complications during his K1-visa interview.
The consular officer requested evidence to prove the beneficiary’s “singlehood” since he previously claimed that he was married.
Unfortunately, they were not able to comply with the embassy requirements in a timely manner.
They decided to get married after the K-1 visa process was unsuccessful.
We carefully assessed their case and filed an I-130 Petition for Alien Relative on their behalf.
We provided extensive documentation to prove their genuine relationship.
This evidence included travel itineraries, hotel receipts, money transfers, call logs, text messages, declarations from the beneficiary himself and affidavits from family and friends.
The beneficiary’s marital status was meticulously documented in the I-130 filing.
We filed the case on June 13, 2022, and it was approved on August 18, 2023!
Our clients are now moving forward with consular processing, knowing that together, they can conquer challenges that will come their way.
As their journey continues, we look forward to the day when our client’s husband can join her in the United States, where they will begin their new life together as a married couple.
