In the world of immigration law, every success story is built on resilience, strategy, and careful planning.
One of our clients’ journeys exemplifies this.
After entering the U.S. in 2003 and facing numerous challenges, he’s now closer than ever to obtaining lawful permanent residency.
Here’s a look at how we helped him overcome multiple hurdles on his pathway to stability in the U.S.
Our client entered the U.S. in 2003 using a fraudulent French passport, seeking admission under the Visa Waiver Program.
However, he was denied entry and, determined to stay, requested political asylum.
Although later paroled into the U.S., his asylum application was denied in Immigration Court, leading to a removal order in June 2005.
Our client filed an appeal with the Board of Immigration Appeal, however, the Board ultimately denied his appeal.
After the devastating earthquake in Haiti, our client applied for Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
In 2012, he applied for and received advance parole, enabling him to travel abroad and re-enter the U.S., further establishing his life here.
In 2018, he met his future wife, and they married in September 2020.
By January 2022, he was ready to take the next step in his immigration journey and sought our firm’s guidance.
We presented a clear, stage-by-stage plan to help him achieve his goal of lawful permanent residency.
With our guidance, the first step was to file an I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, which was approved one year later.
Next, we proceeded with a Prosecutorial Discretion Request.
We’re thrilled to announce that DHS/ICE has agreed to reopen and dismiss our client’s removal proceedings, allowing him to move forward with an adjustment of status application through USCIS.
This brings him one crucial step closer to achieving lawful permanent residency.
