We are thrilled to share that our client from Trinidad & Tobago has officially become a United States citizen after 14 years as a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR).
Our client’s journey to citizenship is a story of perseverance, and we are honored to have been part of her successful naturalization process.
Our client, who is 68 years old, became an LPR in 2010 through her father.
Over the years, she built a life in the U.S., traveling occasionally but never spending more than six months outside the country.
In 2011, she visited Trinidad, and in 2014-2015, she vacationed in the Bahamas.
Despite these travels, she maintained her LPR status without interruption.
Family and resilience have marked our client’s life in the U.S.
She married and filed for her husband’s LPR status, which he successfully obtained before passing in 2021.
As an LPR, she has maintained a clean record, with no arrests or legal issues.
Earlier this year, our client decided it was time to take the next step in her journey by applying for U.S. citizenship.
In February 2024, we filed her naturalization application, ensuring that all necessary documentation was meticulously prepared.
This included her previous marriage certificate, her late husband’s death certificate, and proof of IRS tax filings.
Given her strong case and clear eligibility, the naturalization process proceeded smoothly.
After six months of processing, USCIS scheduled her interview in early August 2024 at the Philadelphia Field Office.
The client’s preparedness and our thorough documentation made the interview process straightforward.
Just a few days later, she received her oath ceremony notice!
She took her oath of allegiance at the end of August and officially became a U.S. citizen! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
She is now eligible to vote in the upcoming elections in November.
We congratulate our client on her incredible achievement and are proud to have been part of her journey.
Here’s to new beginnings and the many opportunities that lie ahead as she embraces her new status as a U.S. citizen!
