At our firm, we take immense pride in turning challenging immigration journeys into success stories.
Today, we’re excited to share one of our recent victories in securing a Green Card for a client in just five months without a USCIS interview—despite a 22-year age gap between the spouses.
Our client from Jamaica entered the United States on a B-2 visitor’s visa in 2021.
Little did he know that destiny had plans for him beyond his visit.
Shortly after his arrival, he met his now-wife through a mutual friend.
Sparks flew, and by July 2021, the couple exchanged vows in a joyous wedding ceremony.
In November 2023, the couple reached out to our firm for help with submitting an I-130 Petition for Alien Relative and an I-485 Adjustment of Status application.
Despite the potential hurdles, such as the significant age difference and the client’s temporary stay, the couple remained determined to build a life together in the United States.
Our legal team diligently prepared a comprehensive Adjustment of Status package for submission to USCIS in May 2024.
We aimed to provide compelling evidence of the couple’s bona fide relationship, demonstrating not only the validity of their marriage but also their deep commitment to each other.
The application packet included the couple’s marriage certificate, joint account ownership letter from their bank, proof of joint health insurance, life insurance, text messages, and photographs to demonstrate their genuine relationship.
A significant volume of communication evidence was also included to highlight the genuine nature of their relationship, especially given the beneficiary- spouse’s work-related absence in New York during the spring and summer months.
In a remarkable turn of events, USCIS approved both the I-485 and the I-130 petitions in just five short months.
Even more impressive, the case was approved without requiring an interview!
We’re thrilled to share that our client is now a lawful permanent resident of the United States!
Cases like this highlight how meticulous preparation and comprehensive documentation can make all the difference, even when potential challenges exist.
Whether it’s a short marriage, an age difference, or temporary employment in different states, we understand the nuances of these cases and work tirelessly to achieve positive results.
