The journey to reunite with loved ones through immigration can often be lengthy, complex, and filled with unexpected hurdles.
This was certainly the case for one of our clients, whose story exemplifies the challenges and rewards of perseverance.
Our client first came to us in March 2021, seeking help with her adult son’s immigration case.
Back in 2014, he had visited the U.S. on a visitor’s visa.
Unfortunately, during that trip, he worked in the country without authorization, which led to serious consequences.
In 2015, when he attempted to visit again, he was stopped at the airport and given an expedited removal order, barring him from entering the U.S. for five years.
Our team worked closely with the client to prepare the necessary documents for her son’s immigration process.
This included the DS-260 Application for a Visa, along with the required supporting documents.
As our client’s mother was retired, we also assisted with preparing the I-864 (Affidavit of Support) from a co-sponsor, ensuring all financial requirements were met.
In May 2022, the case reached an important milestone: our client’s son was officially documentarily qualified.
This meant that all required documents had been submitted and processed, allowing the case to move forward to the next stage.
After waiting over two years, he was finally scheduled for an interview in October 2024.
Unfortunately, a medical setback caused a delay, but the client remained determined. Once the medical situation was resolved, a new interview date was scheduled for January 2025.
In the meantime, we ensured all necessary updates were made, including the submission of recent financial statements, police clearances, and an updated I-864.
The day of the interview arrived, and our client’s son was prepared and confident.
With the help of an interview preparation session with our lead attorney, he was able to navigate the final step of the process with ease.
When the Officer asked about his removal order, our client was prepared to answer thanks to the interview prep.
We are thrilled to share that the interview was a success!
Our client’s son was granted his immigrant visa, and soon, he will be reunited with his mother in the United States.
