Our clients are both from Jamaica.
They met at a restaurant in Kingston Jamaica before Petitioner migrated to the US with his immigrant visa.
They kept in touch after he left Jamaica but only remained as friends since he was already married.
After his divorce, the Petitioner went back to Jamaica for a vacation.
During that trip, he fell in love with his soon-to-be wife.
They dated for a couple of years before he proposed to her at a resort in Montego Bay.
In June 2021, they got married and were excited about starting a new life together.
In November 2021, the Petitioner became a naturalized US citizen.
On the same day of his naturalization ceremony, they had a consultation with us about filing an Adjustment of Status case.
They hired the firm the same day!
His wife was eligible for an Adjustment of Status filing because she entered the US with her visitor’s visa earlier in the year, and she was physically present in the US at the time of filing.
They were anxious about filing their case before the year ended.
However, after obtaining their evidence, we advised them that the Petitioner’s income was insufficient for the Affidavit of Support.
Thus, it would be better to wait a couple more months after Petitioner was able to show more income from his second job.
A month later, we were greeted with the wonderful news that they were expecting a baby!
We then included the ultrasound images of their baby in our packet to USCIS.
On February 7, 2022, we filed the Adjustment of Status case.
On March 11, 2023, the case was approved without an interview!
P.S. Every case is different. Past successes do not guarantee similar future outcomes. Consult a licensed immigration lawyer to discuss your unique situation.
