Heartwarming I-130 Approval Story About Two Athletes

We are thrilled to share an inspiring success story from one of our clients whose I-130 petition was recently approved.

It’s a tale of love and commitment that knows no boundaries.

Our client’s story started back in 2012 when a track and field student-athlete orientation brought two individuals together.

The Beneficiary, a citizen of Nigeria, and the Petitioner, a U.S. Citizen by birth, found themselves representing their universities in track and field.

They became friends and soon developed a deep and enduring relationship.

It wasn’t until the summer of 2013 that the Beneficiary found the courage to express his feelings for the Petitioner.

Over the course of seven years, they navigated the challenges of a long-distance relationship.

In 2020, the Beneficiary proposed to the Petitioner.

In April 2021, they exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife.

The journey of love between a Nigerian citizen and a U.S. Citizen wasn’t without its immigration challenges.

The Beneficiary also held citizenship in Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), which added complexity to their immigration process.

The Petitioner, however, was determined to be with her husband and successfully obtained a residency permit to move to TCI.

Together, they decided to take on the U.S. immigration process as a team.

They had their consultation with us in November 2021.

They hired us to help them with their I-130 petition in April 2022.

Our legal team prepared a solid I-130 Petition for Alien Relative packet.

We submitted an exhaustive 8-page declaration, showcasing the depth of their relationship.

The supporting documentation included joint lease agreements, joint bank account statements, emergency contact information, call logs, and even social media posts that chronicled their love story.

We filed their I-130 petition in August 2022.

It was a waiting game, but they never wavered in their belief they would eventually be together in the United States.

Their faith was rewarded a year later, in August 2023, when their I-130 petition was finally approved!

They are now ready to move forward with the final step which is consular processing.
